"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."
I sure love life! Being a mom is what I was made to do! My sweet little Gav and I took a trip to the zoo yesterday. We hadn't been a for a few months . . .and to my surprise, he was a little nervous around the animals. We had a zoo pass all last year and he LOVED going. But it seems now that he's a little older; he's a little more apprehensive. Which is fine with me . . .it lets me be the 'hero' mom and hold him close when he gets scared. It's great.
We rode the train at the zoo. He loved it. And even though it goes about 2 mph on the track and the ride is only about 4 mins long . . .he asks for it every time we go. He also found a cool drum that he was a pro at playing. It made for some cute pictures. I really love these hot summer days when we are able to be outside all day. I think I'm really going to miss that in England.
I guess Gavin's not getting a nap today. I put him down and heard him about half an hour later. I went in to find a dirty diaper. So I changed him, but him back down. Heard more noise. Another dirty diaper. This time I rocked him a little bit. I couldn't hold back the laughter when he started saying (with his eyes closed) "Shhh, shhh, shhh". That kid cracks me up. We were both laughing so hard I think any possibility of a nap was long gone. Oh well . . .early bedtime!
That's all for today.
