Whew.
I'm tired.
It's been a pretty busy/emotional/long couple of weeks.
Wondering what we've been up to?
Well.
Let me tell you.
Wait.
That'll take too long.
Let me sum up.
(Name that movie and I'll give you a nickel and a big fat kiss.)
We celebrated.
You know.
My Spence turned 31.
And while we don't have any pictures,
it was a pretty nice birthday.
Even if I do say so myself.
I thought and thought and thought about what to get him.
And then I realized that the thing he needs the most.
Is a quiet night all to ourselves.
So I sent the kids away.
Ordered Thai food.
And ate by candlelight.
It was pretty magical.
A camera would've ruined it.
For sure.
We mourned.
My dear, sweet Grandma Valentine passed away.
Did you know her?
Then you know how amazing she is.
Didn't know her?
Meet her here.
I had the honor of speaking at her funeral.
And it truly was an honor.
We celebrated, again.
You know, because, Reese is four.
And it was great.
He got to bowl, golf, ride go-carts and eat at In N Out.
I mean, really.
What more could a four year old want???
And we ate cake too.
Delicious cake.
With sprinkles.
We reunited.
Do you know it's been more than four years since I've last seen my cousin Courtney?
In fact.
I bet it's been longer than that.
I've got some really great family.
With classic, awesome names.
I mean, really people.
Starr. Summer. Robyn. Henry. Penelope. Cora.
Awesome, huh?
And I remember how much I truly miss them when we get together.
We laughed.
We talked.
We hung out with Jack.
(He barks kinda loud. Ask Gavin.)
We got a new windshield.
Well.
Not quite, actually.
But after that kid lobbed a rock from the barrier on the side of the freeway and it hit our car going 75 miles per hour and scared the crap outta me . . .
We will.
And now.
We're home.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Glad you made it safely (barely!) back. What a well-written obituary. And what a beautiful grandmother you have!
Princess Bride...where's my kiss?
Sorry about your Grandmother Jordan.
Shocked about the Rock situation - what the?
Happy about all the Birthday fun!
So apparently you don't like any of MY family's names. Whatever. : P
Thanks for the shout out! It was a super fun/emotionally draining weekend. I loved all of us together...LOVE our family!
So sorry about Grandma Valentine, I feel lucky I got to meet her. She was so elegant and beautiful, in looks and in spirit
I totally got the Princess Bride reference without any help. :) Love it. :)
