We live in a basement apartment. To me, that means we have to deal with spiders. And I'm okay with that. In fact, I've really come to terms with it. I can smash them like a pro and if you ask Gavin what to do with them after we smash them, he'll tell you. We flush them. No big deal. Well yesterday we found a new friend in our kitchen. We had gone out to dinner, so it had been a few hours since we had been in there. We had just put Gav down and I got an apple out of the fridge and worked on it for a few minutes. Then I walked over to the trash when I saw something that looked like an old banana peal on the floor. "What on earth???" I thought to myself. I got closer only to find that it was a SLUG!!! GROSS! We have slugs in Denver, but they are like an inch long and are rarely found, mostly outside. This sucker was like the size of my longest finger and as fat as my big toe! Disgusting! I screamed for Spencer and he came and disposed of it. I thought we were done. No, no, no. Gavin was up at about 4:00am and I went into the kitchen to get him some tylenol. I flipped on the light only because the thought of that nasty slug was still so fresh in my mind. BAM! There was another one on the floor. I just about threw up. Calling my dear Spencer once again, he came and got rid of it for me. Seriously, one is bad enough. But as Spence said as we both climbed into bed, "It was a slug couple. We had to get both of them. I'm sure they're gone now". I just hope the rest of the family doesn't come looking for their mom and dad. If I find any more, I'll lose it. Gahhhh!

funny, funny, funny. you need to get a blackbird to fly around and take care of these creatures. leave a window open...
that's cool you have a stainless steel oven.
i wish we had one of those.
I don't think I have ever seen a slug in real life before.
Yeah, yo uprobably wouldn't, seeing that you live in a place where there is NO RAIN. Trust me, they are nasty.
