Fun at the Fair.

We visited the local fair this weekend. A flood of memories came rushing back as we wandered through the portable rides. I grew up going to the Albuquerque Fair. We weren't huge county fair lovers in our house, but who passes up a funnel cake and some cotton candy??? I can remember riding one of those crazy rides once and feeling so sick afterwards I almost couldn't walk back to the car. I could always count on my mom, though, to go right along with me on the most stomach dropping rides. Spencer's not big on the rides. So if I want to ride them nowadays, I ride alone.

Anywho. After picking up some candy floss (England's version of cotton candy) we headed around the park. Gavin rode on a little merry-go-round ride in a fire truck and had a great time. Then we stumbled upon "Freak Out". And I just about did. This ride would never fly in the States. Seriously. I was shocked. It's a law suit waiting to happen. The video doesn't do it much justice. Imagine a huge pendulum swinging almost all the way around. The screams alone kept me far from the line. People are crazy here. As we walked around the park, I thought to myself, "These rides are so dangerous!" Am I such a grown-up or what???
