Spencer woke up with the most horrible case of the stomach flu. At first I thought he was sick from my fabulous Parmesan chicken that I made for dinner last night. Silly me for thinking that . . .
Poor Spencer doesn't get a "day off" when he is home. All Gavin wants to do is play. He climbed into bed with Spence this morning and proceeded to sit on his stomach and pat his cheeks. Not good for someone who's been tossing his cookies all night. So Gav and I decided to get out.
I had been wanting to go to The Hydro--the local swimming pool--since we got here. It looks like a pretty fun place and today was just the day to try it out. Gavin loves to swim! And, coming from a former swimmer, I couldn't be happier. I love the thought of my little boy enjoying it as much as I do. His new thing is to hold his breath and dunk his head. He feels so proud when coming out of the water. It's great.
The Hydro has one giant changing room. There are tons of lockers and stalls but no male vs female rooms. I mean, they do have male/female bathrooms, but as far as showers, lockers and dressing rooms, it's all one. I remember that this is they way it was when I went swimming with my family in Germany. It must be a European thing. Anyway. I really like it. Right when you walk in, there is a huge sign of rules, one of them being that swimwear must be worn AT ALL TIMES. I would much rather share a locker room with a man, than see a woman running around in her nothings just because it's an all female locker room. Maybe this thought will be moved to the states. Then I wouldn't have to try to shield my son's eyes while trying to walk to our car . . .Everyone write a letter to your congressman . . .
