We've been so busy lately, I haven't had much time to blog. Shocking, I know. So here are six things that have happened lately that are blog worthy.
1. Some of my old young women came over on Saturday night to have a movie night. One of them left this Santa hat (see above). Gavin tried it on and loves it. I think it makes him like like a whitey with a fro.
2. While listening to Christmas carols in the car last week, the song "Feliz Navidad" came on. Gavin was singing along when I heard him say, "Release Mommy Duck" during the chorus. I guess that's a song about a mean-mommy-duck-stealer. And to think I've had it wrong all these years.
3. Reese has become quite the little dancer. He shakes his hips and bounces up and down every time anything that resembles a song is on. No kidding. Singing, the radio, TV. I even saw him do it in the middle of an intense story by Spencer.
4. Thanks, mom, for teaching me how to make peanut butter balls. My belly thanks you as well.
5. You can get laryngitis twice in a month. Thank you, thank you very much.
6. Gavin's new favorite game is "I am Santa". About twenty times a day he'll come running in the room saying, "Mom, go to sleep (close your eyes) and I'll bring you a present". He then wraps up the nearest toy in the closest piece of clothing (shirts, socks, blankets) and leaves them by where I'm "sleeping". If I peek, I get no presents. At least he knows how it works . . .
So there you go. I love the holidays.

I'm so glad for the update! I'll have to start singing Feliz Navidad the way Gavin does--that's so cute! I've wondered what it must sound like to kids to hear other languages...now I know! :)
Maybe changing the lyrics to Christmas songs is in the Kemsley genes - like when Gage changed the words of "Glory to God" to "Lori to Dahl." That still makes me laugh!
Ha ha Lori. I had totally forgotten about that. How embarrassing that my WHOLE family is known for not knowing the lyrics to stuff . . .except me. I catch Spencer singing the wrong thing all the time . . .
That is a great list! Aren't kids the best? It's fun to hear the world through their ears sometimes. Oh, and what a great picture of Gavin.
Love this. Release Mommy Duck,... something, something, release the Dad. Have him figure out the whole rest of the song, will you?
Lori to Dahl....classic! That Mommy duck story has brought a smile to all of us.
that is so funny. Destroy still thinks October is called knocked-over.
I am laughing so hard right now...what a hoot! Release Mommy Duck is the best darn Christmas song i have ever heard!
