I was working in Gavin's classroom this week when I saw the new "cub" drawings that the cute little kindy's had made.

I strolled down and saw Bryanna's.

Look how well she stayed in the lines!

And there was Milar's.
So cute and creative!

Then I saw Reagan.
Such a realist--a cub should be brown!

And Mercedes!

I love your interpretive use of color!

So smart!

And then.

Well.

JORDAN.

Er, um.

I prefer the term "Free Spirit".

Oh man, this reminded me of a story about our Jordan in the 1st grade. It was Open House night and her Dad and I were up at the school. We went to Jordan's classroom and there, on the wall was art made by all the 1st graders in Jordan's class. Blaine and I stood with all the other parents looking for her paper. And there it was, looking much like the Jordan art work of Jordan's blog today. It was a mess! I said, "Do you see it?" Blaine said, "I see it." Neither one of us wanted to point it out for all the other parents to see. Jordan's teacher told us later that she was always in a hurry. Race through Math to get to Spelling. Hurry through spelling to get to Art. Loved this blog--so ironic!

Hilarious. Perhaps Jordan was going for a nod to the impressionist era. Or he likes the motion of drawing more than he cares about the staying-in-the-lines part. He definitely had some impression wrist action goin'. I bet it was very entertaining watching him color that bear! ;)
