Well, friends.

We did it.

Photobucket

And aside from feeling a tiny bit Amish . . .

We had an amazing time.

I mean.

Truly.
Incredible.

Photobucket

I really had no idea what to expect.

I mean.

I've never done this before.

But let me tell you.

This experience exceeded any vision I had.

No seriously.

At one point,

we crossed the Sweetwater River.

I learned many important things on the banks of that river.

One being:

Chivalry is not dead.

Photobucket

Sometimes I forgot that these people were teenagers.

NO complaining.
NO frowning.
NO crying.

And that's after 15 miles of walking and being COVERED in mud.

I was so impressed.

Photobucket

We walked and walked and walked.

And then we walked some more.

We heard amazing stories about our ancestors.
We cried a lot.
We became selfless.

I've never seen such acts of kindness in all my life.

Photobucket

And do you want to hear something awesome?

We were told a story about a woman that lost all of her toes from frost-bite.

And today, while talking to my mother,

We came to the conclusion.

I am related to her.

Suddenly it became more real to me.

Photobucket

And so . . .
After 20 total hours on the bus.
And ticks and mosquito's.
And being H.O.T.

I'd do it again tomorrow.

Okay maybe not toooomorrow.

But I'd do it again.

FOR SURE.

Photobucket

In fact.

I CAN'T WAIT to do it again.

The chivalry picture is my favorite. I almost cried. Okay, I'm also preparing my lesson for Sunday, so I feel a little weepy at the moment, but still. Loved it. Glad you had a great experience.

Looks awesome and fun! I did that once and LOVED it! I love the pic of you and Spencer walking together. Pretty amazing what they all did so long ago.

YAY! I KNEW you'd have a great time! At least you got to sleep in tents. We roughed it under the stars, but we didn't have to cross any rivers, so I guess we're even. Don't mind the fact that I was 17 when I went. . . ok, ok, you win.
