So.

I'm just wondering . . .

Have you ever poured hot syrup into a glass jar . . .

Only to have the bottom break out?

But.

You didn't know that the bottom was broken out until you picked up the jar?

No?

Hmph.

You should sometime.

It makes a pretty wicked mess.

And it'll leave your kitchen smelling like sugar goodness for hours (and maybe even days!).

Photobucket

And trust me when I tell you.

These pictures don't do the mess justice.

I mean.

I've seen a lot of messes in my time.

But none come close to the sticky, gooey, stringy mess made tonight.

I'm just saying.

Yes, Shay. It is indeed the buttermilk goodness. And we had pancakes. And yes, I made more syrup when after this tradegy. Because really. Who wants plain maple syrup on pancake night? NOT ME.

I totally did that when I took a glass right out from the dishwasher and poured milk into it. It cracked right down the middle and I didn't notice until I picked it up. Sucks.

My mess was easier to clean than yours. . . Dag.

Oh Jordan! What a sticky mess! We had that the other day, but with a jar of Agave. The jar didn't break, Preston just thought he'd make himself a little sandwich, and ended up doing artwork on the kitchen floor instead. I mopped three times, and my floor STILL felt sticky! I think we finally got all the spots because my socks don't stick to the floor anymore. At least your kitchen will smell extra yummy for a while! I hope you didn't burn your legs. Ouch!
