Day #3.

As I sat outside today,
chatting with the Elders that so [luckily] were called to Saddle Rock,
I thought to myself,
"I'm so impressed with these boys."
Nineteen. Moving to a foreign land.
(one from Canada)
Dedicating two whole years of their lives to Heavenly Father.
What a sacrifice!
It made me think about when my sweet Spencer put his paperwork in.
I, ahem selfishly ahem, was a little upset about his departure.
Where would I be in two years?
How could I wait that long to see him again?
What about me?
I was kiiiiinda a brat back then . . .
Then I got the first letter.
Oh yes, there was no denying that he was suppose to be in New Zealand.
And yes, I received many blessings from him being there too.
I fell in love with him while he was gone.
Every day that passed, it was a little more.
Every guy I "hung out with", it was even more.
Every time a letter came bearing testimony it was a tiny bit more.
Sick and wrong, I know.
However, I didn't fall in love with the missionary, per say.
More the man behind the suit . . .
You get it, right?
And now, here we are
Eight years later
And writing to a new missionary.
One that I love
but not quiiiite like the other one.
One that is dedicating his current life to his faith.
Pretty remarkable.
You should've seen his car obsession before he left.
Trust me, he is sacrificing.
And how about this cute kid?
This is my cousin, Eric.
He's the taller one.
Now, I just see pictures,
but I've never seen this kid so happy.
He's in Ecuador, by the way . . .
Speaking Spanish and having some pretty wild adventures.
You can imagine, I'm sure.

I am so thankful for these missionaries for talking to strangers
even when the door has been closed a thousand times before.
They are blessings in my life.
**Happy Friday, by the way**
**We're celebrating 'The Best Family Home Evening Ever' tonight.**

I'm enjoying your week of gratitude. I'm so thankful for you, Jordie.
Btw, I think Gage has that exact tie that Eric is wearing. Great minds...
I love this blog. Thanks, Jordan.
Aw seeing his happy face made my day! Hurrah for missionaries.
I'm soooooo thankful Elder Dixon, what the heck, i'm soooooo thankful for Spencer coming to New Zealand and being a part of our family, he really was the best Missionairy we've ever had (he set very high standards and no one has even come near since). Xxx, the Mahuikas
