So today, with it being a holiday, Spence and I decided to do something fun. We had seen the building for "The Wildlife Experience" and thought it might be fun to go there. 23 bucks later, we're in. The lady at the front handed us our "guide book" and says, "This is a great day to come, we have face painting and crafts and all sorts of stuff".
Okay. So the first exhibit was about the evolution of dogs. Serious. A room filled with plastic dog replicas. "Surely it gets more exciting than this," I said to Spencer. We headed upstairs and found the "playroom". I've never been so disappointed in my life. Half the stuff to do was broken. The other half only worked partially. No joke.
And that was it. Nothing else. "Where's the face painting and the crafts?" Spencer asked me. I found a worker and asked her. She told me to go down the hall, past the cafe, past the restrooms, turn left and head down the hallway and the face painting in on the left. And there she was, in a hallway all by herself snacking on Wheat Thins and drinking a bottle of water. She was very nice, and told Gavin he could choose anything off of her paper to draw. A turtle, a fish and a flamingo (okay maybe there were a few more . . .). And in three minutes we were done and outta there. Wow.
We saw some firemen on the way in and donated some change in their boot and Gavin got a sticker and a fireman hat. It made his day. At least someone had fun . . .To all my Denver friends, spend your money on The Butterfly Pavilion instead . . .

Oh snap...that stinks! What a bummer. Makes you want to go ask for your $23 back right?
Glad he got a hat ~ makes up for it in a way.
Man! What a bummer! At least you take your kids and see all the places around here. We need to start taking Ellee around. We've heard the zoo in Colorado Springs is fun.
