The Easter Bunny came a little late this year . . .

So we're having this massive snow storm (again). It started with a little rain beating against our windows. I love that. Well, at about 11 or 12 this afternoon it turned to snow. Spring snow is the worst! Not only is it heavy, wet snow that kills your trees and flowers, but it really messes with the spring-time animals. For example. During lunch, Gavin sees a robin red breast. He threw a few crackers out to him, and they became friends. We sat and watched this beautiful little bird eat the crackers and shake from being so cold. Blasted snow. Then, when Spencer got home, we noticed a little bunny trying to keep warm under some toys we had in the backyard. My heart broke for little flopsy. So Spence put on the gloves up to his armpits and got a box all ready. Gavin held the door open for him and in just a few seconds that bunny was safe from the elements. I sorta feel bad because that poor bunny is scared to death. He's been trying all night to jump out of the box. But if he only knew how cold it is outside . . . When we looked out our back door tonight (hours later) we noticed lots of bunny tracks right by the door. All of a sudden, I realized that we're the bad guy from Finding Nemo. "See that little guy? I rescued him from the reef . . ."
*Gulp*

This is a far cry from the Easter Bunny that got pegged with a rock! You guys are turning soft in your old age.

Seriously, I'm happy you helped him. He can find his way home tomorrow. How'd the artichokes turn out?

Aaron and I caught a baby bunny last year and it made the worst sound I've ever heard. All the adults rabbits came running too. We let him go (obviously since I now hate pretty much all rabbits that are not tiny since they eat my flowers) and things were ok then. He'll be good today.
