I'm kinda obsessed with this song right now.

I mean.

I've listened to it at least 100 times a day.

And I can't get enough of it.

I first heard it on Saturday Night Live.

And I liked it then, but for some reason it didn't hit me.

Then I saw it on Glee.

And I really listened to it.

And then downloaded it.

And it hit me in a way very few songs do
.

You know when you hear a great song (spiritual or not) and it really touches you?

Call me crazy.

But this song touches me.

Deeply.

The chorus:

The dog days are over.
The dog days are done.
The horses are coming, so you better run.

Run fast for your mother.
Run fast for your father.
Run for your children.
For your sisters and your brothers.
Leave all your love and your loving behind.
Can't carry it with you if you want to survive.

I mean.

From a mother's perspective.

Wow.

From a Mormon's perspective.

Wow.

From a runner's perspective.

Wow.

Amazing.

And when I first watched the official video.

I'll admit.

I thought it was nuts.

But then I realized.

It fits perfectly.
