So.
Just in case you were wondering.
There's a walk-a-thon happening at school right now.

There's a walk-a-thon happening at school right now.
Gav walked/ran 28 laps in the past two days.
He's so proud.
(And I am too).
In fact.
Yesterday I worked in his class.
When I was done,
He went to lunch.
I went to the car.
And waited.
I sorta felt like a creeper.
10 minutes later.
Here he comes.
Done with lunch and ready to run.
I sat and watched him.
Run and run and run.
I fully expected him to be surrounded by his friends.
I mean, really.
My boy loves his friends.
But he wasn't.
He ran alone.
He was determined to run more laps than he had the day before.
Which was 13
There was no messing around.
He meant business.
And for that moment he was all grown up to me.
It was a weird moment.
I was happy that he was working so hard to finish.
But sorta sad that he was so big.
And by the way.
He told me he was going to run 18 laps today.
He's so proud.

How did it go? 18 laps?
Hey, tell Gav, that's a cool mohawk!
And cool busted jeans!
XO
WOW! I know what you mean. You want to be happy for their achievements, but at the same time it means they are growing up in some small way, so it makes it bittersweet.
Are they giving awards? He should get one!
