Today was weird.

After a long chat with a good friend,
it came to me.

Every day is precious.

I mean.

This is the only day in history that Gavin is 5 years, 9 months and 17 days old.
I need to kiss him when he says things like,
"Mom, does Santa make a summer run?"

This is the only day in history that Reese is 3 years and 7 days old.
I need to smile when he wants his blanket tied around his body like a cape.
Over and over and over.

So you know what we did.

We made cookies.

And then.
In a split second.

Bad things started to happen.

I got a headache.
A bad one.
I got a text from one of my girls.
A bad one.
I got a call about Girls Camp.
A bad one.
Gav and Reese got into a fight.
A bad one.

Suddenly my day of rainbows and butterflies was gone.

Now it was tornados and moths.

How could my day turn so bad so quickly?

It was then that I cried.

"Pity party of one . . ."
And let me tell you.
I had a hard time stopping.
No really.
My friends Carrie and Karen must've thought I'd gone NUTS.

And then.

I ended up here.

Checked my baggage at the door.

Sat in silence.

Pondered.

And suddenly.

I realized.

We have to taste the bitter to appreciate the sweet.
We have to experience pain to appreciate the pleasure.
We have to suffer through the bad to appreciate the good.

I just didn't expect it to all happen in one afternoon . . .

I love happy endings.

Hope all is well again.
Everyday I am stresed because I have that mentality of "this is the only day my kids will be this age" etc. It causes me anxiety. There is never enough time for each day to be perfect. But each day can be pretty darn good.
Keep smilin'
