Dixon Details

When I was five
our neighbors had a pool.

When we moved to Germany,
they had a going away "pool party" for us.
They were great neighbors.
This party was one of my earliest memories.

I kid you not.

All the girls in the neighborhood decided to jump off the side together.
We were totally BFF.

I was on the end.

And I hit the side on the way in.

It hurt.

Bad.

We were leaving the next morning

so we butterflied it.

It really hurt.

To this day I have a sick scar.
Right on my shin.
I like to tell Babi that's where I got stabbed.

He believes me.

Now.

Present day.

Last night we visited Half Moon Bay.

DOPE.

No, seriously.

It is so awesome.

A great beach.
With seals.
And huge waves.
And a reef you can walk on.

So there we were.
Walking on the reef

when . . .

the tide started to come in.

As we wandered,
we became more stranded.

We finally decided it was time to go.
Gav and I were stuck.

I {threw} him to the shore.
And I took a jump.

My right leg slipped.

And.I.hit.my.scar.

Can you say
P-A-I-N-F-U-L???

You should see the bruise today.

But it was still freaking awesome.
One of the best memories. Tonight we
{read I dragged}
my family to Chinatown.

**Note to self**

Dark.
Late.
Crying children.
Not clear directions.
Huge SF hills.
Confusion.
NOT GOOD.

But Spencer got to ride a trolley . . .
My work here is done.
